Tooth Fairy and Mommy Ramblings

So my baby looses her first tooth. I feel guilty because my response to this was not the same as my response to her older sisters when they lost their first teeth. I think I said something along the lines of "Let's try to glue it back in"...which made her look at me like I had 3 heads. This mommy is having a really hard time with the lighting fast speed that my "baby" is growing up. I cherish watching her turn into this amazingly funny little girl, who loves art...makes friends with everyone she meets....who asks me every night if I have "computer work" (aka editing) in hopes that I say no so that I can snuggle with her at bed time. But at the same time, I am no longer the mommy of a toddler...or a baby and I know I never will be again. That end of an "era" so to speak is hard on this mommy.

But, I will revel in the little things...like loosing a first baby tooth and stopping my computer work so that I can take her up on that snuggle time.

Don't grow so fast baby girl!

Jim & Connie - Part Two

Jim and Connie's wedding was at The Conservatory on Main Street St. Charles. It was really the perfect location for them, it had that quaint intimate feel to it...plus it was gorgeous!

The reception took place at the Fire Fighters Hall. It was a reception full of so much love and joy...with so many heart felt touches. To see Jim and Connie share their head table with their new family of 10 was very touching. Connie's daughter Bailey made the wedding cake...it was just perfect with the cutest pink flowers. I was amazed at how well she did with a wedding cake, I am sure that takes a lot of skill. She did an amazing job!

Jim's 2 oldest sons wrote a song for their Dad and new Mom and played it on guitar and sang to them...I don't think there was a dry eye in the place :)

It was an amazing day...and again, I feel very honored to of been there to capture it for them.

I had to end with this photo...hopefully it makes Connie laugh. Connie LOVES her Facebook and had an official "count down" to her wedding day. So when my sister in law came over and showed me on her phone that Connie had posted...I knew I had to get a picture. :)
You guys are the best!! May you love each other more tomorrow than you did today!

Jim & Connie - Part One - "Before the I Do's"

Connie and Jim...boy where do I start. Connie is a very close friend of my often mentioned on this blog sister in law Jessica. I have known Connie for quite awhile now and I can say one thing for certain....Jim has made her so happy. Her happiness bursts out of her...it is adorable. When they knew they were talking about taking thier love to the next level with marriage, Connie contacted me right away to be their photographer. I was honored and beyond excited....Connie is a lover of photography and takes some amazing photos herself. So,I was really happy that she was trusting me with her big day.

Now...her big day came in early February when lots of snow blanketed the ground. Jim and Connie were such troopers...we spent a lot of time outdoors and for as cold as it was....they never complained once and Connie never batted an eye as her dress got a little "snowy/slushy" as we walked the streets in St. Charles. I love them for that...such troopers.

It is no secret that Connie loves her "fire guy" and I was sooo excited that we were going to be able to start our "before" photos at Jim's Firehouse.

Big Big Big thanks to Kelly...for always being my right hand in capturing couples in love...many of the amazing photos below belong to her. We were also thrilled to have Kim join us for a few hours...she fit in so perfectly and also captured some gorgeous photos of Connie and Jim. Thanks ladies!!

Ok, now on to the beautiful couple doing what they do best...loving each other with their whole hearts....enjoy :)

Such an amazing and creative shot by Kelly.

Love this shot by Kim! :)

Stay tuned for Part Two...the ceremony and after party :)

Amber & Chad - The Proposal

I was so excited for Amber and Chad's proposal shoot. It was my first official "proposal"...but it is something I certainly hope catches on in the St.L :)

Kelly and I were counting the days....and after hearing about all the thought and work Chad put into pulling this off, we knew it was going to be awesome!

Kelly & I approached Amber and Chad at Anheuser Busch during a brewery tour and pretended like we were photography students and asked if we could photograph them during the tour. Chad of course was in on the whole thing...but Amber had no idea...and she was a sweet as could be about it. I could see right away why Chad was so crazy about her.

It all went so smoothly...and I absolutely LOVE the photojournalistic style of the pics Kelly and I captured. Such an amazing snowy perfect day!

Enjoy!

A awesome shot of Kelly's....

Chad and Amber...we had an absolute blast "following" you around. This was by far one of our favorite shoots ever!! We hope to see you guys again soon...have fun planning that destination wedding. :)
Hugs!

A Sunny Spot for Cold Day Sessions

The Jewel Box has become my oasis this past month. I have had the pleasure of bringing a few families there....it has become quite popular with local photographers. The biggest challenge for me is to keep each session fresh when shooting at the same location over and over. I had the great luck of working with this fun and adorable family of three...so that certainly helped with "keeping it fresh".

We had a great time and they were so easy to work with...it was like hanging out with old friends. I LOVE what I do...because I work with the best families and couples.

Thank you guys for spending your Sunday morning with me...and for even stepping outside for a few in the snow. It was great to meet you!
